Central Athletics Programme for the Week

Dear Runners,

Well done to all who participated in the various races/runs over the weekend.

Please note that this weeks Thursday training session has moved to the Rose Garden at UCT Middle Campus, as the stadium might be out of bounds. In addition if you haven’t renewed your 2016 license, you can do so now as we received additional licenses last week.

Monday 8 February: Rest and Recovery

Tuesday 9 February: Starting PROMPTLY at 6:30pm at Newlands Cricket Stadium. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.

Wednesday 10 February: – (Option 1 – Gym strengthening and conditioning)

Option 2 : Time Trial, starting PROMPTLY at 6:00pm at Rondebosch Common. There are 2 options, the 2,5km and 5km trial. You must however register to receive a number in order to record your time. So please try and arrive 10min earlier. This will be additional training/conditioning in order to improve your race times.

Thursday 11 February : Starting PROMPTLY at 6:30pm at Rose Garden Parking,  UCT Middle Campus, Parking area at Subway below M3.

Friday 12 February: Rest and Recovery (Optional – Gym strengthening and conditioning)

Saturday 13 February: Optional – Starting at 8am – 5km Park Run at Rondebosch Common, Green Point Park, Constantia Green belt and many other venues. Please visit the website http://www.parkrun.co.za to register and for more info.

Option 2 : Club LSD, details to be confirmed.

Sunday 14 February: Tygerberg 30KM (League Race)

Starting time: : 06:00 Tygerberg 30KM

Cost : Lic R80 / UnLic R115

Pre-entries accepted day before race (13 Feb) from 12:00 to 17:00 or

on race day (14 Feb) from 04:30 to 06:00

Starting from : Parow Athletic Track, De Grendel Rd, Parow North.
